First Two Transgender Flight Attendants in the Philippines

Jess Labares and Mikee Vitug are the first two transgender women to become flight attendants in the Philippines.

Becoming a flight attendant is no easy feat. The selection, hiring and training process can be grueling as flight attendants must be fully prepared to ensure the safety of all passengers on their flight. It is even more difficult to become a flight attendant as a transgender woman in an industry not known to be trans-friendly.

Congratulations to Jess Labares and Mikee Vitug for this historical achievement and kudos to Cebu Pacific, lead by Lance Gokongwei, for being leaps and bounds ahead of other industry players in terms of gender equality.
