The “Endocrine Treatment of Transsexual Persons”, first published in September 2009, has been replaced by The Endocrine Society’s latest guideline, “Endocrine Treatment of Gender-Dysphoric/Gender-Incongruent Persons”, published in September 2017. One of the changes in this new guideline is the recognition of compelling reasons to start HRT before the age of 16.

However, keep in mind that there are minimal studies of early HRT and regardless of age, you should always consult with a medical health professional and an endocrinologist who are well-versed in transgender related hormone therapy treatment.
If you want to increase your knowledge of HRT, need a guideline for you doctor to follow, or any other reason, you can find a pdf copy of the new guideline here.
